Hospital Dentistry

For patients who cannot have dental procedures carried out in the dental office, treatment is available under general anesthesia at Children's Hospital of Minnesota at the Minneapolis and Minnetonka campuses. The need for general anesthesia is typically determined during an appointment in the dental office.

Patients requiring these services include:

  • Very young patients requiring dental treatment
  • Patients with special needs
  • Patients with developmental/behavioral problems
  • Patients with phobias
  • Patients with complex medical problems.

General anesthesia and facility charges are considered medical services and are billed through your medical insurance.

As a courtesy, Dr. Angela Wandera and Associates will contact your medical insurance to verify coverage for the surgery center's anesthesia and facility charges. Some insurance policies may require verification from a physician.
